Avery Music

Reuben Avery is a freelance trumpet player, instructor, arranger, composer, music copyist and band leader from Vancouver, BC.  Having completed the Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies Degree Program at Capilano University, Reuben now performs with and manages one of the city’s finest dance bands “The Phonix.”

Since he began teaching private trumpet and music theory lessons in 2005, Reuben has enjoyed meeting the challenges of catering to individual students and their diverse musical goals.  Some of Reuben’s career highlights include performing across the road from the opening ceremonies at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games (with The Phonix), performing a sold-out show at The Yale; one of western Canada’s most acclaimed Blues venues, and preparing individual instrument parts for several orchestral arrangements of various national anthems that were recorded by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.
